Privacy Policy

How FNCCI collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Our commitment

Your trust is at the heart of our chamber

The Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) values the trust of its members, partners and visitors. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have over your data.

Data minimisation

We only collect what we genuinely need to deliver our chamber services.

Secure by design

Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, audit trails.

Transparent purpose

Every category of data we hold is tied to a clear, member-facing purpose.

Member control

Access, rectify, port or delete your data — on request, at any time.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you apply for membership, register for an event, subscribe to our newsletter, complete a form, or contact us. This typically includes your name, professional email, company, role, phone number and country.

We also collect limited technical data automatically — IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and referring URL — to keep our website secure and improve our content.

2. How we use your information

  • To process your membership application and manage your account with FNCCI.
  • To deliver event invitations, registration confirmations and member services.
  • To send our monthly newsletter, publications and chamber updates (only if you opt in).
  • To respond to enquiries and provide member support.
  • To comply with legal, regulatory and bilateral chamber obligations.

3. Sharing within the CCIFI network

As an affiliate of CCI France International, we may share limited member directory information (company name, contact, sector, country) with other French Chambers of Commerce within the network of 123 chambers across 92 countries — strictly to facilitate bilateral business introductions. We never sell your personal data.

4. How we protect your data

We use industry-standard administrative, technical and physical safeguards: encrypted databases, restricted access, secure authentication and regular security reviews. Member directory data is only accessible to authenticated, paid-up members.

5. Your rights

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention periods.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses essential cookies for core functionality and limited analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect certain features.

7. Contact our Data team

For any privacy-related request, write to privacy@fncci.org or use our contact page. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to members directly.
