FOCUS ON STRENGTHENING THE FRENCH-NIGERIAN BILATERAL TIES AS THE FRANCO-NIGERIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY RECEIVES THE AMBASSADOR OF NIGERIA TO FRANCE, DR. MODUPE IRELE IN A COCKTAIL.
It was an auspicious evening at the residence of Mr. Francis Widmer, the Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of France in Nigeria. The welcome cocktail which was aimed at exploring bilateral business relations was described as a welcome idea by the Consul General of the French Consulate Mr. Laurent Polonceaux he described Dr. Irele as a woman vast in knowledge, very vibrant and with utmost interest in education which has reposition her for a diplomatic carrier.
The chairman of the FNCCI board Mr. Oye-Hassan Odukale MFR, stressed that the French business community have been known to take advantage of the opportunities in Nigeria, He encouraged Nigerians to also capitalize on the FNCCI’s business platform and expand their business relationship.
Dr. Irele described the welcome cocktail as a very unusual opportunity and expressed her appreciation to discover a very vibrant French business community of more than 600 French businesses in Nigeria. She expressed her commitment to reposition the interest of Nigerians in doing business with France thereby encouraging diverse networking.
She further mentioned that the Nigerian business environment is changing in the area of economic reforms, and government focus. She expressed her commitment to align and focus on ways of promoting and facilitating business relationships between Nigeria and France.
In conclusion, Dr. Irele said that the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a very vibrant platform which she aligns with to facilitate any business opportunity in order to channel ideas that will make Nigeria visible in France and expand the existing business relationship in both countries.
